Bemetara, Gauri Gaura festival was celebrated with great pomp in all the wards of the city. Market Para, Pikri, Kobia, Farmer leader Yogesh Tiwari participated in the Gauri Gaura Mahotsav organized in Singhori and other wards. Here he offered prayers by law and wished for the happiness and prosperity of the people of the area. During this, the marriage of Goddess Parvati was solemnized by taking out the procession of Lord Shiva with a musical accompaniment. Hundreds of people attended the procession. On the occasion, the farmer leader said that such an event creates a sense of mutual brotherhood and harmony among the people. Traditions survive as people increase their faith in their religion. Gauri Gaura Festival is one of the old traditions of Chhattisgarh. The idol of Gaura-Gauri is made after Lakshmi Puja on the night of Diwali. Unmarried girls visit the locality-village keeping it with a urn on their head. Prasad made of rice flour boiled in milk is kept in a basket-like vase. Which is called Doodhfra. Ghee or oil is not used in this. This dish Gaura-Gauri is offered. Which everyone accepts on the second day.
