Court gives opportunity to the accused, the prosecution and the applicant for mutually satisfactory settlement. If a satisfactory settlement is reached between the parties, the Court may, subject to the punishment of the accused, having regard to the punishment provided for the said offence, release the accused on probation, or may be punished with half the minimum punishment of the offence. or may be punished with one-fourth of the prescribed punishment.
