Awareness program will be held on World Pneumonia Day

Raipur: World Pneumonia Day is celebrated every year on 12 November with the aim of increasing the awareness of pneumonia among the people. World Pneumonia Day was first observed in the year 2009. The problem of pneumonia is seen more in young children. But pneumonia can happen at any age. Pneumonia is an infection of the lungs. In this, there is difficulty in breathing due to filling of water, pus in the lungs, or there is a problem of phlegm. Its treatment is necessary in time, otherwise this disease takes a serious form. But this disease can be cured if the treatment is given in time. In this regard, Dr. PK Gupta, civil surgeon of District Hospital Pandri said, World Pneumonia Day was first observed on 12 November 2009 by the Global Coalition against Child Pneumonia. Since then every year this day is being celebrated with a new theme. Various programs are organized on this day to make people aware about this disease. Pneumonia is a serious respiratory problem, in which the lungs become infected. Due to pneumonia, the lungs become swollen and sometimes they fill with water. Pneumonia is caused by a number of infectious carriers, including viruses, bacteria, and fungi. An awareness program will also be organized on World Pneumonia Day at District Hospital Pandri. “The symptoms of pneumonia are usually caused by cold, flu. When lung infection progresses rapidly, High fever is accompanied by shortness of breath. There is a complaint of chest pain. Young children do not develop fever but develop cough and difficulty in breathing. Prevention of Pneumonia Pneumonia can be prevented through vaccination after birth. To prevent this, vaccines are also given to infants, children and adults. Other ways to prevent pneumonia include abstinence from smoking, keeping cleanliness, wearing a mask, taking nutritious diet, exercising, and yoga.
