Glorious 125 years of Laprosy Mission Hospital, Betalpur completed

Betalpur- The proud 125 years of Laprosy Mission Hospital, Betalpur, Secretary, Health Department, Shri R. Prasanna, Collector Shri Dev and Louis Timmins of Britain inaugurated a five bed ICU and surgical ward at Laprosy Mission Hospital, Betalpur Proud mother land Mungeli – Glorious of Laprosy Mission Hospital, operated in village Betalpur, Patharia, in the district’s development block, yesterday, 01 November. On completion of 125 years, Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Department of Chhattisgarh Government, R. Prasanna, Mungeli Collector Mr. Rahul Dev and UK’s Lewis Timmins inaugurated the five-bed ICU and surgical ward there. On this occasion, Secretary, Health Department, R. Prasanna said that the introduction of five bed ICU and surgical ward in Laprosy Mission Hospital is a big achievement for the region. He congratulated the doctors of Laprosy Mission Hospital on the opening of ICU and surgical ward. He said that leprosy patients were earlier looked down upon in the society. At such a time, from the year 1897, Mission Hospital, Betalpur started the treatment of leprosy patients. Today this hospital has completed its glorious 125 years. Which is a matter of pride. He said that now the treatment of leprosy is possible. He said that leprosy patients are being identified and treated continuously by the district administration Mungeli. He assured the district administration to provide all possible help. Earlier, Collector Rahul Dev lit the lamp and gave his best wishes on the completion of 125 years of Laprosy Mission Hospital. They said that The Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi had visited the famous Laprosy Mission Hospital in 1933 for the service of leprosy patients and praised the services being done to leprosy patients. He said that the reputation of Laprosy Mission Hospital is not only in the country but also abroad. He said that it is a matter of happiness that Laprosy Mission Hospital is continuously serving the people. On this occasion, he expressed his happiness for the service facility available in Laprosy Mission Hospital. The program was coordinated by Lewis Timmins, Mr. Peter, Dr. Elkana, Revenue Mrs. Priya Goyal and Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Devendra Paikra also addressed. Earlier, Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Department, Shri Prasanna, Collector Shri Dev got necessary information by visiting other rooms including ICU room of Laprosy Mission Hospital.
